Inter-school art competition held to mark Sir Syed’s birth anniversary
ALIGARH : The Abdullah School, Aligarh Muslim University organized an inter-school Art competition to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the university.
In the portrait making competition, Halima Sharif (AMU City Girls School) got the first prize, while Govind (RMPS AMU City School) won the second prize and Mohd Mahad (AMU Abdullah School) and Tanmay Charturvedy (STS School) shared the third prize. Dirshti Sing (AMU ABK School Girls) and Samar Sharma (AMU ABK School Boys) got the consolation prizes.
In drawing of an AMU building contest, Umrah (AMU ABK School Girls) won the first prize and Wajiha Hilal (AMU Abdullah School) and Arish (AMU ABK School Boys) shared the second prize. Aliya Irshad of AMU Girls School received the third prize. Mohd Mudassir (STS School) and Farhan Malik (RMPS AMU City School) received the consolation prizes.
In his address, the chief guest, Prof. Asfar Ali Khan, Director, Directorate of School Education, AMU, urged the students to work hard in their studies to become a torch bearer of Sir Syed’s educational mission in their later career.
Prof. Anis Jahan appreciated the creativity of the young artists, while Mrs. Umra Zaheer, the School Superintendent, along with Mrs. Tanveer Badar urged the students to keep participating in such competitions as they are essential for an all round development.
Ms. Lubna Imtiaz, Cultural Coordinator extended a vote of thanks and Mr. Mohd. Merajuddin (Nadwi) conducted the programme.
