Interactive workshop on ‘Marketing Linkage for Wool Growers of Kashmir’ held at Lalmandi Srinagar
SRINAGAR : The Central Wool Development Board in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce, Directorate of Sheep Husbandry Department Kashmir and Wool & Woolens Export Promotion Council today held an interactive workshop on ‘Marketing linkage for Wool growers of Kashmir at Lalmandi, here.
The Central Wool development Board had roped in Reshamandi from Bangalore to develop the marketing linkage and model for providing forward and backward linkages for wool growers of Jammu & Kashmir.
The event was attended by more than 50 Wool growers from all districts of Kashmir and the event was graced by G.S.Bhati, Executive Director-Central Wool Development Board as chief guest and guest of honour was Romesh Khajuria, Chairman Wool & Woolen Export Promotion Council.
A detailed presentation on the model of Reshamandi was presented by Kshitij Kuthiala AVP – Expansion and Projects – Strategic Initiatives. The wool growers and FPOs presented their suggestions and wool farmers thanked the department for such an initiative to streamline the wool sector of Kashmir.
The Reshamandi assured that they will come up with a marketing plan with best prices for growers and will develop a value chain as has been developed by them in Silk and Cotton sectors.
The event was also attended by Dr Imran Khawaja, Technical Officer Sheep Husbandry Kashmir; Dr Basharat, Joint Director Sheep Husbandry Department; Bilal Kawoosa General, Convenor PHDCCI; Ubair Ahamd, Convenor Agriculture and Agribusiness along with Co Convenor, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and Nasir Ahmad attended the session.
