Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit organized centenary series of lectures

Aligarh: Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit organized centenary series of lectures on “Biology to Medicine” in which three scientists from Yonsei University Seoul Korea (one of the top 20 Universities in Asia and 107th QS ranked in the world) participated.

Prof Asad U Khan, coordinator emphassised on strengthening the collaboration and student exchange programme between two universities.

Dr Hassan Baig from Seoul introduced the Yonsei University and the hospital about the research and facilities, they have. The key speaker, Prof Jae Cao, Director of the 3700 bedded Severance hospital, discussed the core facility in oncology and offered future collaborations with AMU. Dr Jae Dong discussed about anti-cancer drugs and different pathways involved in tumor growth.

The delegation met Vice chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor to propose possible collaborations and MoUs between the two institutions. He has encouraged them to proceed for such collaborations and MoUs. Vice Chancellor has also explained them about existing MoUs between AMU and several universities. He discussed modern technologies in oncology like Roboticsurgery.

Prof ShahidA Siddiqui, Principal JNMC and oncologist attended the meeting and interacted with delegation to plan the strategies working together in future.

Teachers from different departments including the dean Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof Qayyum Husain were also present in the series of lectures. Prof Waseem Siddiqui paid vote of thanks.
