New Delhi:: The International Baccalaureate (IB) and World Academy of Career Programmes (WACP) will join together to share the benefits and advantages of the IB Career-related Programme (CP) through the School Leaders Summit,  IBCP Confluence 2023 to be held on October 12 at Aerocity, New Delhi. The Summit will bring school leaders, educators and industry professionals together to share insights and best practices to advance the future of education. The aim of the Summit, entitled ‘The IB advantage for the new era of education’, is to explore ways in which the Career-related Programme can provide an innovative framework to prepare students to be competitive in higher education and the global economy.

The IB’s CP, an internationally recognised programme, offers students an opportunity to specialize in an array of professional industries, including those offered by WACP as a recognized CRS provider. The annual School Leaders Summit, co-hosted by both organizations, will highlight educational best practices as esteemed school heads and University leadership teams participate in panel discussions throughout the event.

Participants will learn about the pioneering vision of the CP and how the programme helps students cultivate global-mindedness and prepares them for the ever-evolving future. Leaders in education will gain insights into how the CP supports students’ personal and professional development as the leaders of tomorrow.

“We welcome the school owners, education leaders, counselors as well as industry experts to this great event where we can share a common platform to discuss the CP’s potential as a game-changer in the K-12 education space…The programme provides immense benefits for students, where they choose subjects of their interest, core subjects, and career-related study with uninterrupted guided learning. Our aim is to reach out to more schools and apprise them of a new way of learning: the IB way,” says Dr. Balkishan Sharma, Founder – WACP.

The Career-related Programme (CP) is an innovative blend of academic study and career-related skills that opens the door to a happy and successful life. CP students undertake a minimum of two IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses, a core consisting of four components and a career-related study. The career-related study further supports the programme’s academic strength and provides practical, real-world approaches to learning; and the CP core helps them to develop skills and competencies required for lifelong learning. CP students are provided with a solid foundation for important life skills including sense of purpose, resilience, reflection, empathy and ethics.  The IBCP and WACP partnership equips students with the essential skills, knowledge, and experiences needed to thrive in their chosen careers, laying a strong foundation for a successful career in students’ area of interest.

Haif Bannayan , Global Director of Business Development for the IB shared, “IB‘s CP has already been launched in leading schools in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore and many more cities across the country…The confluence offers schools the opportunity to know more and understand about the unique CP qualification and discover how the curriculum can empower schools and prepare students for the future of work”.

Recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as a Grade 12 qualification, the CP is now an accepted qualification with universities in India and around the world. Students are accepted in many universities in India such as Ashoka University, Krea University, ITM University, Shoolini University and others. Graduates of the CP programme have a direct pathway to prestigious institutions and/or the career of their choice. Many institutions such as HTMi (Switzerland), Britts Imperial College (Dubai), Michigan College Alliance (USA), and some of the colleges of University of Mumbai provide guaranteed admission for students who have completed the IBCP and WACP Career-related Studies programme.

The School Leaders Summit is an opportunity for educational leaders to learn more about the Career-related Programme structure and teaching methods, best practices, and paths forward to best support students preparing to face the challenges of the future.
