International Commission on the Futures of Education launches its work in Paris

The International Commission on the Futures of Education, Chaired by President Sahle-Work Zewde of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, launched its work at UNESCO on 28-29 January 2020. Comprising leading figures from the worlds of politics, academia, the arts, science, business, and education, the independent Commission is mandated to rethink how knowledge, education and learning need to be reimagined in a world of increasing complexity, uncertainty, and precarity. Looking at 2050 and beyond, the initiative is catalyzing a global conversation through a range of partner networks and platforms, as well as through a global on-line consultation in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
