International Conference on AI and Digital Media Concludes
ALIGARH: The two-day international conference on AI and Digital Media in Foreign Language Pedagogy, organized by the Department of Foreign Languages, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), concluded with a valedictory address by the Dean of the Faculty of International Studies, Prof. Mohammad Azhar. He expressed a commitment to investigate further the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools in revolutionizing language education. He also congratulated the Department of Foreign Languages for providing an excellent platform for academic dialogue and fostering future collaborations.
Dr. Noorin Khan, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) was the guest of honour.
The programme convener, Dr. Mayuresh Kumar, stated that the conference successfully initiated a critical dialogue. He emphasized that AI and digital media are reshaping the global landscape of language learning and added that his department is eager to explore these advancements in its future endeavors.
The Co-convener, Dr. Sawan Kumar Singh said that scholars and educators from around the world presented papers during multiple sessions, in online and offline modes, and explored various topics that spanned from the role of AI in personalized learning to the ethical considerations of digital media in language education. Notable highlights included plenary sessions by Prof. José Carlos Paes de Almeida Filho from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and Prof. Pablo Gervas from Complutense University, Spain.
Extending a vote of thanks, the Co-convener, Dr. Murad Ahamad Khan, said that AI is playing an increasingly significant role in Spain’s technological and economic development, and Spain is actively collaborating with the European Union to ensure the responsible use of AI.
He urged the students to participate in cultural and literary activities for an all-round development.
The event was further enriched by a captivating cultural program at Kennedy Auditorium, featuring a mesmerizing Ghazal recitation by Minu Bakshi. The AMU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon, along with other dignitaries, graced the cultural evening.
