Paralakhemundi Leads the Way: A Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047

 

Paralakhemundi : Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), in collaboration with the Operational Research Society of India (ORSI), Bhubaneswar Chapter, successfully concluded the two-day International Conference on Viksit Bharat: Innovative Business, Agriculture, Technology, and Resource Management for Sustainable Growth on September 27, 2024. The event attracted over 200 participants, including global experts, researchers, and policymakers, in both physical and virtual formats, from more than 15 countries.

Set against the backdrop of India’s vision for a developed and inclusive Viksit Bharat by 2047, this conference was a fitting venue at the Paralakhemundi Campus, known for its focus on agricultural sciences, fisheries, and veterinary education. CUTM’s Paralakhemundi campus stands out as a hub of sustainability and innovation. The School of Agriculture at this campus, recently awarded NAAC accreditation, has been instrumental in advancing sustainable agricultural practices, livestock management, and aquaculture through cutting-edge research and training programs. The campus’ contributions to India’s agricultural sector underscore its importance in driving discussions about sustainable development.

A highlight of the event was the keynote session on “Sustainable Development for Viksit Bharat: The Way Forward,” chaired by Ms. Abha Mishra from UNDP, Odisha, and featuring an esteemed panel of global experts. Topics ranged from AgriTech’s role in sustainable agriculture to innovative strategies for resource management, aligning with the core goals of Viksit Bharat.

The conference also featured 160 research paper presentations across various themes, encouraging collaboration between experienced professionals and young researchers to develop innovative solutions for India’s future. The release of the Book of Abstracts cum Souvenir captured the key discussions and breakthroughs presented during the sessions.

Centurion University’s leadership, including President Prof. Mukti Kanta Mishra and Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Supriya Pattanayak, emphasized the conference’s critical role in advancing sustainable growth. Prof. Mishra highlighted, “This event has strengthened our commitment to innovation and collaboration, key to achieving India’s aspirations for 2047.”

The conference concluded with a renewed sense of urgency toward sustainable development, fostering cross-border partnerships and innovative research to propel India’s growth story.
