International Day of Forests celebrated at Reasi with enthusiasm

District Admin organised a cleanliness drive at Bhimgarh Fort Reasi ‘Hamari Aan Hamari Shaan Swachta Abhiyan’, Lauds Sanitation workers

 

REASI : District Administration Reasi today organised a plantation drive and cleanliness drive in and around the premises of Bhimgarh Fort Reasi ‘Hamari Aan Hamari Shaan Swachta Abhiya’, on the occasion of International Day of Forests.

Chairman M.C Reasi, Sudhesh Puri; ADDC Jyoti Slathia; CPO Sunita Kanchan; DFO Jyotsana, SSP Reasi Amit Gupta, ADC Abdul Star, ACD Anirudh Rai; ACR Sanjay Badyal; CEO Mohd. Aziz; CAO Sudhir Singh; besides other concerned officers were also present.

At the very inception, the DC Reasi and SSP Reasi kickstarted the event by planting trees.

Plantation drive was followed by cleanliness drive.

During cleanliness drive, DC Reasi thoroughly explained the harmful effects of non-biodegradable plastic wastes and advised the participants to segregate bio-degradable and non- biodegradable wastes for the safe disposal of unwanted plastic wastes.

During the drive, plastic and other non-biodegradable wastes were collected from the premises of the Thapa Chowk, Reasi Bus Stand and Bhimgarh fort.

In her address, DC Reasi, Babila Rakwal said that “The government alone cannot do it and everybody has to contribute to make Reasi clean.” She exhorted the general public to realize the importance and instrumentality of cleanliness in making our lives better and at the same time urged them to observe the canons of cleanliness in daily life.

Later, DC Reasi along with the District officers appreciated and applauded the Sanitation workers. She encouraged them to contribute towards cleanliness by continuing their endeavors in future course of action and provided them light refreshment as well.
