International Students at Ural Federal University Share Favorite Places in Ekaterinburg and Home Countries

On March 13, a photo exhibition of favorite places of international students of the Ural Federal University “I Love My Homeland! I Love Russia! I Love Ekaterinburg! I Love UrFU!”. The exhibition tells about the students’ favorite places in Ekaterinburg and their hometowns.

The opening ceremony was attended by the head of Ekaterinburg Alexey Orlov, the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexander Kharlov, the Deputy Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region Lyudmila Berg, the Rector of UrFU Victor Koksharov, the Vice-Rector for International Relations Sergey Tushin, the Director of the Center for International Student Mobility and Recruitment Elizaveta Syskova, the Head of the International Marketing Office Evgenia Saburova.

Mayor Alexey Orlov made a welcoming speech at the opening of the exhibition.

“In my opinion, the idea of combining two places dear to one’s heart in one photo has perfectly fulfilled the task of showing the individuality of the authors and revealing the beauty of their cultures,” noted Alexey Orlov.

The exhibition was initiated by the Ural Federal University International Office to show the diversity of the university’s student community, the breadth of its geography, and the dynamism of its activities around the world.

“I always emphasize that for us all UrFU international students are ambassadors of peace. They serve as a link between Russia and their home countries,” emphasized Victor Koksharov.

The opening ceremony was also attended by international students of UrFU, authors of the photo exhibition, Elen Kirakosyan (Republic of Armenia), Lam Phuc Nguyen (Vietnam), Nikita Buyanov (Republic of Kazakhstan), Avinash Kumar (Republic of India), Sakher Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Tamimi (Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan).
