Prof Adriano Sofo an Italian researcher had a conversation on “Plant-soil-microorganisms interactions in some Mediterranean cultivated species.” He emphasized that microorganism are necessary and unavoidable components of the soil.
Dr Ashish A Malik working in United Kingdom had a dialogue on “Soil microbiome mediated carbon sequestrations in soils.” Dr Malik suggested that carbon compounds injurious to the plants can be sequestered by incorporating beneficial microorganisms into the soil.
Prof Nafees Ahmad Khan, Chairperson of the Department explicated about the prerequisites of the webinar and significance of sharing information regarding the new researches being carried out in the developed countries for enhancing food productivity and sustaining crop production, and to put into practice their discoveries under existing condition of Indian subcontinent.
