Internationally-acclaimed professor Dr. Himadri Das joins MDI Gurgaon as new director
Gurugram: Internationally-acclaimed Professor Dr. Himadri Das has taken over as the new Director of Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, one of the reputed management schools in India.
Dr. Das has taken over from Prof. C. P. Shrimali, Acting Director, MDI Gurgaon.
A Visiting Professor at the University of Luxembourg, the University of Tampere in Finland, and the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France, Dr. Das has a BTech and MBA from IIT Delhi and MS and PhD from the University of Virginia, USA.
Prior to MDI, he was with Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurgaon, as Director.
Sharing his vision for MDI Dr. Himadri Das said, “I believe MDI is at an inflection point and is poised for hyper growth that will catapult us from a B School of national repute to a B School of international repute. We have the most important ingredient to get there – outstanding faculty.”
Dr Das said MDI offers a unique opportunity as here we have a large number of extremely high quality people in the pursuit of a common organizational goal.

Dr Das was with the International Management Institute, Delhi for eleven years in a variety of leadership roles out of which five years were as the Dean (Academic Programs). He has also about thirteen years of corporate experience mainly in the IT products and services industry, in the US and India, for software multinationals involved with products for engineering and financial applications.
His teaching, research and consulting interests include IT and service industry, production and operations management, project management, productivity management and business modelling.
Dr Himadri Das is a strong advocate of creating and disseminating knowledge that serves the needs of industry for which it must be relevant and contemporary, a belief which he has pursued tirelessly throughout his career.
