IoA, UK in association with ISDC launches IoA Analyst Competency Framework in Bengaluru
Bengaluru : The Institute of Analytics (IoA) in the United Kingdom, in collaboration with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), today launched the IoA analyst competency framework at an event held at the Hotel Shangri- La in Bengaluru. Senior delegates from premier state and private institutional partners of ISDC like JAIN (Deemed-to-be-university), Manipal University, SRM University, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, St. Joseph’s College of Commerce and Mount Carmel College attended the event.
ISDC (International Skill Development Corporation) is a leading global provider of British education and skills, and also has a very active presence in India by working in partnership with an excess of 200 universities and higher education providers in India.
Basically, the framework lays out a training programme to assist organizations in upskilling their existing employees to become more data literate. In addition, it offers structured guidance to graduate trainees as they develop their skills in data literacy. For organisations, the Framework presents a way forward to realize the benefits of data analytics.
The four training themes offered by the framework place different emphasis on four broad skill areas i.e. coding, data manipulation and analysis skills in our Knowledge and Analytics section. These are the skills that set IoA members apart from other professionals, and gives them a balance of depth of experience and breadth of experience in data manipulation that they might not get from work experience alone.
At the launch, Dr Clare Walsh, Head of Education at IoA, said, “I am delighted that our analyst competency framework is being launched in India. It will help professionals and students in India gain an in-depth understanding of data science and analytics. We aim to make India a data-literate country through our association with ISDC and other Indian universities.
Mr. Tom Joseph; Executive Director, Strategy & Development at ISDC, said, “Professionals with expertise in analytics will have a huge potential. Analytics will be highly essential for skill development in the future. As the strategic partner of the IoA, our objective is to promote professional standards in data science and analytics worldwide. We are excited about our partnership with IoA on the India regional launch of the analyst competency framework and are hopeful that this framework will enable professionals to become “data leaders of tomorrow”.
The Institute of Analytics (IoA) is the professional body for analytics and data science professionals in the UK and internationally, with more than 4500 members worldwide.
