IOC Chairman Visits AMU
Aligarh : The Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Sh. Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, accompanied by his team, visited Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) today. They engaged in a productive meeting with AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon at the Selection Committee Room.
The Vice Chancellor welcomed the IOC Chairman and provided overview of AMU’s rich heritage and its status as an Institution of Excellence. She commended IOC for its pivotal role in ensuring India’s energy security and its active involvement in various CSR activities aimed at enhancing the quality of life in communities. The meeting provided a platform to explore potential collaborations between IOC and AMU, focusing on fostering growth and development for AMU students and the wider Indian youth.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on JN Medical College and Hospital, green initiatives, and integrating core values emphasizing “Nation First.” Chairman Vaidya emphasized IOC’s commitment to societal welfare and highlighted potential Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a focus on sustainability and community development.
Chairman Vaidya also detailed IOC’s green initiatives, including solarization projects, recycling programs, and waste-to-energy plants.
The AMU attendees included Mr. SM Suroor Athar, Officiating Registrar; Prof. Mohsin Khan, Finance Officer; Prof. Asfar Khan, OSD VC Office; Prof. Mohammed Ali, Member-in-Charge, CAW; and Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Member-in-Charge, GAS.
Following the meeting, Chairman Vaidya toured several locations, including the Maulana Azad Library and the Willingdon Pavilion. He also visited various heritage buildings at AMU.
This visit marks a significant step towards a strategic partnership.
