Iranian university delegation visits AMU Management Faculty

ALIGARH : A delegation from the Ahlul Bayt (AS) International University, Tehran, Iran, led by its Vice Chancellor, Dr Saeed Jazari Mamoui visited the Faculty of Management Studies and Research, Aligarh Muslim University and had an interactive meeting with the Dean, Prof Ayesha Farooq, discussing the prospects for mutual cooperation between the two institutions in academic endeavours.

Prof Farooq said that the prospects were discussed for the AMU students of MBA in Islamic Banking and Finance (IBF) undertaking a summer internships in Islamic Banks in Iran, leveraging the strong presence of such institutions in the region.

The possibility of starting a PhD programme in Islamic Banking for the MBA–IBF students at Ahlul Bayt (AS) International University, subject to the AMU approval, was also discussed in the meeting. It was suggested that such scholars might be sponsored by ABIU, Tehran.

They agreed to finalize the details of these initiatives later.

Dr Mamoui expressed satisfaction on the deliberations during the meeting, which also included prospects for academic collaboration and exchange of faculty and students between the two institutions.

They also delved into the possibility of mutual cooperation in organizing online lectures and programmes.

Prof. Jamal A Farooqui, Chairman, Department of Business Administration, along with Prof. Javaid Akhter, Prof. Parvaiz Talib, Prof. Saboohi Nasim, Dr. Asad Rehman, Dr. Ahmad Faraz Khan, Dr. Lamay Bin Sabir, and Dr. Zareen Hussain Farooque, were present during the discussions.

The delegation took a round through various facilities at FMSR, and had an interaction with the students.
