IRCS, J&K Chapter holds meeting with NGOs Coordination Committee
SRINAGAR : The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K UT Branch today conducted a meeting with the NGO’s Coordination Committee to review the COVID-19 mitigation measures, availability of blood, relief distribution and other activities.
The meeting was chaired by Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Honorary General Secretary of IRCS, J&K Chapter.
The meeting was organized by IRCS to chalk out a plan to work in close coordination with prominent NGOs in Kashmir valley to have a greater synergy to serve the needy in a much better way.
Speaking on the occasion, Rizvi lauded the efforts of NGOs for their continued support in alleviating the sufferings of the underprivileged during the pandemic and called for institutionalization between NGOs and IRCS for greater outreach.
He highlighted the work done by IRCS in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir during the ongoing pandemic and the future course of action of the society. He hoped that the NGOs shall carry on their activities in future also and provide support to IRCS in identification and distribution of relief amongst the most deserving beneficiaries in parts of Kashmir Division and organization of voluntary blood donation camps and medical camps in remote areas of the valley.
The NGOs Coordination Committee requested to impart First Aid Training to the members and volunteers of NGOs.
Further, it was brought to fore that the NGOs Coordination Committee in collaboration with Red Cross shall organize environmental awareness programs and focus on Disaster Mitigation Programs in Jammu & Kashmir. The participants were urged to follow and propagate the COVID-19 SOPs issued by the government from time to time.
The meeting was attended by Honorary Treasurer of IRCS, J&K, representatives of NGOs Coordination Committee and heads and members of various NGOs.
