ISB to host the ISB Policy Conclave on March 01, 2020

Hyderabad: The student-run Public Policy Club of ISB is organising its annual Policy Conclave on the 1st March, 2020 at the Hyderabad campus. The theme for the day long conclave is ‘Ideas for India – 2020 and Beyond’ and it aims to help view the different aspects of the Indian society and how they can evolve going forward. As the India we know gears up to become the next superpower, its social fabric is catching up to the changes brought about by the economic development. In context of this, all aspects of the society will adapt and evolve as India grows. It will view policy through multiple lenses and address opportunities and challenges that lie in each domain.

The conclave comprises of four panels which will explore the following themes: sustainable policy-making for the country’s growth; responsible media, film-making and censorship; youth in politics – motivating them to contest elections; civil service police reforms for the 21st century. These will try to encompass different aspects that will be impacted as India continues to grow, ranging from the civil administration to the film industry.

Speakers from diverse professional backgrounds will be attending the conclave to discuss and debate the above-mentioned topics. This time ISB Policy Conclave aims to go international, so has invited foreign politicians and leaders from Nepal as well, such as Shri Dhawal Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana, the General Secretary of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party. The Conclave shall be inaugurated by the Union Minister G Kishan Reddy. The panels would be comprised of Members of Parliament, editors or founders of leading daily nationals, film directors, film critics and IPS officers. The conclave will witness the likes of Siddharth Varadarajan, Amar Patnaik, Bhargava K, Madhukeshwar Desai, Suchitra Tyagi, Anjani Kumar, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayulu and Aparajita Sarangi among other notable speakers.
