ISBF and Gitanjali Senior School partner to form Hyderabad’s first EMF Club

New Delhi: In its continuing endeavour towards building a thriving ecosystem of quality business education, Indian School of Business & Finance (ISBF), one of the London School of Economics’s top five Global Teaching Centres and an affiliate institution to the University of London (UOL), inaugurated Hyderabad’s first ever EMF Club, in partnership with the city’s Gitanjali Senior School in a virtual launch ceremony attended by close to 200 learners.

The EMF Club, is a student-led body aimed at facilitating and igniting the enthusiasm and passion for innovation in the fields of Economics, Management & Finance (EMF). This is ISBF’s third such venture in the country after similar partnerships in Mumbai and Chennai, earlier this year.

Speaking at the launch event on Thursday, Ms Maya Sukumaran, Principal, Gitanjali Senior School, Hyderabad, said, “We are sure that through this partnership with ISBF, our students will be exposed to high quality learning which will not only help them get a holistic understanding of the careers in Economics, Management and Finance but also instil in them the attitude for practical learning”

Also speaking at the launch was Mr. Chiraag Mehta, Associate Director, ISBF, who outlined the importance of in-depth study in the fields of Economics, Management & Finance, in helping students build sustainable and successful global careers. “Economics, Management and Finance are heavily inter-related disciplines. I have been a beneficiary of this interconnectedness with my past stints in Advertising, Investment Banking, the Development sector and now teaching Economics. These fields are pathways to several lucrative and intellectually challenging careers like in the BFSI sector for example, which is rated as among the highest paying sectors in the world and in India,” he said.

Close to 200 learners from the 10th, 11th and 12th grades of the school led by Founder member Shreya Shivakumar of the 12th grade who attended the launch were treated to an engaging and interactive EMF quiz conducted by Mr. Aryapriya Ganguly, Associate Professor, ISBF.

Among the activities of the EMF Club, Gitanjali Senior School, Hyderabad, as outlined by Shreya Shivakumar, the Founder member, will be a focus on the enhancement of collaboration and critical analysis of real-life situations and business problems, feasibility check on ideas, internship opportunities, sessions by industry leaders, think tank competitions, and the like.
