ISBF and JBCN Parel partner to form EMF Club

New Delhi,: In its continuing endeavour towards building a thriving ecosystem of quality business education, the Indian School of Business & Finance (ISBF), one of the London School of Economics’s top five Global Teaching Institutions and an affiliate institution to the University of London (UOL) partnered with Mumbai’s JBCN International School, Parel, to form the EMF Club- a student-led body aimed at facilitating and igniting the enthusiasm and passion for innovation in the fields of Economics, Management & Finance (EMF).

Speaking at the launch event on Friday, February 26, 2021, Mr. Davi Sanchez Netto, Principal, JBCN International School, Parel, said, “I am extremely pleased, not only because such an initiative will benefit our students immensely, but more importantly because this will be the first student-led club at the School. I thank ISBF for helping us provide our students with this opportunity and wish the Club all the very best.”

Also speaking at the launch was Mr. Chiraag Mehta, Associate Director, ISBF, who outlined the importance of in-depth study in the fields of Economics, Management & Finance, in helping students build sustainable and successful global careers. “Economics, Management and Finance are heavily inter-related disciplines. I have been a beneficiary of this interconnectedness with my past stints in Advertising, Investment Banking, the Development sector and now teaching Economics. These fields are pathways to several lucrative and intellectually challenging careers like in the BFSI sector for example, which is rated as among the highest paying sectors in the world and in India,” he said.

Close to 100 learners from the 9th and 11th grades of the school led by Founder member Mohammed Amaan Panchbhai of the 11th grade who attended the launch were treated to an engaging and interactive EMF quiz conducted by Mr. Aryapriya Ganguly, Associate Professor, ISBF. Gayatri Dutt of the 11th grade won the quiz handsomely and was awarded a certificate by ISBF.

Also speaking at length about the opportunities that would open up for JBCN students, as a result, Ms. Ann Wenger, Consultant Director of Career and University Placements, JBCN Parel, said, “I’m excited to be here for this event because this means to me that JBCN is broadening its connections with the Indian University markets.”

She further added, “ISBF as a relatively new institution in India has made I think a very wise decision, to broaden its space by connecting to prestigious Universities abroad. Just to help with through its growing and expanding of its influence in India. And certainly, the University of London is well known here in India and well respected, so I think that’s a real plus point. Not only do students earn a degree from the University of London but also have the benefit of studying the same curriculum that is taught at LSE, by professors that have actually studied abroad themselves and are being mentored by LSE itself. So, what an opportunity for our students to both connect to the Indian Higher Educational system, as well as the one abroad.”

Among the activities of the EMF Club, JBCN, Parel, as outlined by Amaan, the Founder member will be a focus on the enhancement of collaboration and critical analysis of real-life situations and business problems, feasibility check on ideas, internship opportunities, sessions by industry leaders, think tank competitions, and the like.
