ISM Directorate felicitates AYUSH staff for exemplary services during pandemic, International Yoga Day Week

Jammu: Director, Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM), J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh, today appreciated the tireless efforts put in by AYUSH Staff (Doctors and other Non-Gazetted Staff) during the COVID-19 pandemic and in organizing series of activities during Yoga Week and to celebrate International Yoga Day, 2020.
He was speaking at a brief ceremony organized by Directorate of ISM, Jammu to felicitate the AYUSH Staff for making the IYD-2020 a grand success.
At the event, Appreciation Certificates and mementos were given away to the staff associated with successful culmination of Yoga Week and IDY-2020. The Director emphasized to continue the practice of Yoga and make it a way of life for healthy wellbeing.
Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo was also presented a memento by the Director ISM and other senior functionaries of the ISM directorate.
Listing the activities, the Director said that the Medical and paramedical staff of ISM have left no stone unturned in providing best AYUSH Health Care services to the masses during the challenging time of COVID-19 pandemic under the guidance of Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo.
As per the advisory of Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the AYUSH Staff provided exemplary services to frontline workers, he said.
“They provided Immunity boosting AYUSH Medicines and single herbs like Unnab (Berr), Behidana (Bahl), Sapistan (Lasoda) and Amla, to frontline workers of Health & Medical Education Department, inmates of Old age homes, PRIs, Police Department, Administrative Units, Municipal Corporations, Municipalities etc” he said.
He further appreciated the AYUSH staff for ably performing duties in Quarantine Centres, Surveillance Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Screening, IEC, District COVID-19 Control Rooms, etc.
Appreciating the efforts of AYUSH Staff in organizing the Yoga Week and activity on the International Yoga Day, he said links were created on social/digital media platforms to hold yoga sessions across the UT with the theme Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family. “Lieutenant Governor, J&K Shri. G.C Murmu, First Lady Dr. Smita Murmu, Advisors, Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner H&ME Department, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, HoDs of Health & Medical Education Department etc also celebrated IYD-2020 from their homes using digital and social media platforms” he added.
He hailed the role played by the District AYUSH team, especially District Coordinators in celebrating the Yoga Week and IYD-2020.
He also thanked the Departments of School Education, Higher Education, Youth Services & Sports and Skill Development for their convergence &valuable contribution for celebrating IYD-2020 by involving their staff and students and also in organizing online competitions at District levels.
Further, he also appreciated Assistant Director In-charge, RARIUD, CCRAS, Jammu, Dr. V.C.Deep for organizing a webinar on sensitization of AYUSH Practitioners and public regarding usage of AYUSH advisories and measures for prevention of Covid-19 through AYUSH Sanjavani mobile app for impact assessment study, in which nearly 100 AYUSH practitioners participated. Director ISM, on the occasion requested all the participants to encourage the masses to download the Sanjavani App and avail benefits out of it.
He also said that the bilingual Yoga Videos in Dogri & Kashmiri languages were also released by Lieutenant Governor at RajBhawan Jammu on 17th June 2020. These videos were also telecast in TV Channels and on various social/digital media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Zoom, etc.
