ITMO: Priority 2030 National Program: ITMO Team Presents its 2030 Development Strategy Within Research Leadership Track
During the project defense, the representatives of ITMO University have presented its new development strategy titled . The program includes four strategic projects, as well as the M-platforms technology that will help the university to manifest the proposed changes. The project’s key mission is to boost scientific progress, ensure a high technology readiness level (TRL 7-8) of ITMO’s products, facilitate the customization of the educational process, and promote the synergy of business, science, and education.
As noted by Daria Kozlova, First Vice Rector, participation in the research leadership track will help the university to demonstrate its technological advances in the fields of sensorics, telecommunications, robotics, and green technologies. ITMO researchers are already working on introducing cutting-edge AI technologies to transform the core processes of science and business. The focus of several ongoing projects lies in personalized monitoring methods and health management.
“By 2030, ITMO University strives to train top-tier researchers and implement highly innovative projects that will not only respond to the technological challenges but also have a direct impact on the country’s social and economic development, as well as the lives of common people. We’re ready to collaborate and create joint laboratories with our colleagues from other universities who have similar values and offer promising technologies. Thus, together we can work our way to digital transformation and contribute to the development of industrial networks across the country,” notes Daria Kozlova.
is a strategic academic leadership program aimed to ensure that Russia has 100+ advanced, modern universities by 2030 that will become centers of the country’s scientific, technological, and socio-economic development.
“Priority 2030 goes beyond any other educational programs we had before. It already brought together 106 universities from all parts of Russia. All participants will receive a base grant of 100 million rubles. Yet only those universities whose programs were highly regarded advanced to the second round, and are believed to become the centers of scientific and technological development in Russia,” says Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister.
On September 27, the Committee announced the list of universities that will receive a base grant. Having been among the winners, ITMO University will compete with 54 other universities for the special grant in the second round.
