Jal Jeevan Mission: 128 projects proposed to cover 19430 households in Poonch

 

Poonch: District Administration Poonch, has proposed 128 projects to cover 19430 households under Jal Jeevan Mission,

The information was given here at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, regarding implementation of “Jal Jeevan Mission” (JJM)- a flagship programme of Central Government to provide potable water to rural homes through functional household tap connection by 2024.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, Rajesh Lakhan, CPO, Madan Lal, SE Hydraulic, Xen PHE Rajinder Sharma, AEE, Amarpreet Singh besides other concerned officers were present.

At the outset, the Xen Jal Shakti presented the progress report of the work done under Jal Jeevan Mission. He informed that a total of 128 DPRs have been proposed to cover 19430 household at an estimated cost of Rs 273.60 crore.

The DDC stressed upon the officers to speed up their tasks so that cent-percent households are be provided working Tap Water Connections within the given timeframe.

The DC said the mission aims to improve the lives of rural people by providing them safe drinking water through tap connections. He directed for time bound completion of the projects so that benefit in terms of drinking water facility is provided to the public within the shortest possible time.
