Jamia Hamdard organised 2nd International Conference on Use of ICT for Digital, Smart, and Sustainable Development

New Delhi: Jamia Hamdard’s School of Engineering Sciences and Technology organised the 2nd International Conference (ICIDSSD ’20) on Use of ICT for Digital, Smart, and Sustainable Development on February 27, 2020.
The conference aimed at contributing towards the mission of the Government of India to promote Information and Communication Technologies for the success of the Digital India Program and have more Smart and Sustainable cities across the country by bringing the academia and the industry together. It provided an effective platform for the researchers from all over the world to showcase their original and innovative research work.
The conference focused on developing strategic plans for balanced and inclusive growth of the economy through ICT in critical, emerging, and promising areas comprising of but not limited to
• Sustainable Computing
• Sustainable Energy Consumption
• Governance, Sustainability and Security
• Human built Systems for Sustainable Development
• Sustainable IOT and Cyber Physical Systems
The Chief Guest for the event was Hamid Ahmad, CEO, Hamdard Laboratories and Secretary, Hamdard National Foundation. Dr. Prachi Kaul, Director, Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute was the Guest of Honour.
An array of International speakers and scholars were present. Some of the prominent names include-Prof. Valentina Emilia Balas, University of Arad, Romania, Prof. Nevine Makram Labib, Sadat Academy of Management Sciences, Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Irma Aslanishvili, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia, Prof. Gulsun Meric, Anadolu University, Turkey, Dr. Eiad Yafi, University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Dr. Omid Mahdi Ebadati, Kharazmi University, Tehran, Iran. Prof. M. Afshar Alam, Dean, School of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Jamia Hamdard, delivered the welcome address. Mr. Syed Saud Akhtar, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard presided over the function.
Prof. Valentina Emilia Balas delivered a keynote address and shared her research experiences with the delegates.

Afshar Alam, Dean, School of Engineering Sciences and Technology was quoted saying.
