Jamia Hamdard organises Webinar on Pre-Natal Care and Women Health Issues amid Corona Pandemic

New Delhi: In continuation of Jamia Hamdard Covid-19 Webinar Series, School of Unani Medical Education and Research (SUMER) Jamia Hamdard organized 5th National Webinar on Pre-Natal Care and Women Health Issues amid Corona Pandemic and seeing the present COVID-19 circumstances.

The webinar attracted more than 650 registered delegates which was joined by the Academicians, Researchers, Clinicians , Science scholars, Students , Scientists, and Medical officers from different parts of India and abroad including Iraq, Iran, Sri-Lanka, UAE, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

This Webinar was an overall interdisciplinary insight into women health and prenatal care concerns in COVID-19 and post COVID-19 World. The health of women and Antenatal care has deep impact on health issues which can be directly related to physical and mental health.

Esteemed experts from across India touched many pertinent issues related to women health and expectant mothers who had been ignored by the medical fraternity due to very swift and wide spread of SARS-CoV2 virus.

Prof Dr Rafi A Chaudhary, Head of Gynae and Obs- ZVM Unani Medical College, Pune spoke on Gynaecological problems which are being faced by women in SARS-CoV2 pandemic era. He gave a deep insight of AYUSH warriors preparedness and their approach to labour and process of labour too.

Director All India Institute of Ayurveda, Delhi – Prof.Dr Tanuja M Nesari spoke on the very significant issues related to prevention from virulence of infection under the initiatives and guidelines of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India under the theme of “How to live with nCorona Virus, as the virus is not going to vanish too early from the world”.

Prof Roohi Zaman, Head of Unani pharmacology-National Institute of Unani Medicine, Bengaluru enlightened on Nutraceuticals and Haematinics of Unani system which can be an add on to the diet of expectant mothers in and beyond COVID-19 phase. She emphatically stressed on the available haematinics which not only ameliorate the general condition of women but also enhances the haemoglobin and immune boosting.

Dr Arshiya Sultana, Associate Professor of National Institute of Unani Medicine gave a very interesting talk on management of antenatal care and interventional approach by Unani Practitioners. She widely explored the treatise of Unani literature and practical approach for management of pregnant women where the doctors and patients are at stake of infection.

Another Speaker and Educator- Head of Department of Physiology Prof Dr Ghazala Mulla comprehensively gave her lecture on mental and psychological health and it’s concerns during corona pandemic while eliciting the methodology and measures adopted by Unani practitioners and Clinicians to not only care for physical health but mental and emotional health of pregnant women.

Citing the Quranic reference regarding the rights of women in Islam, Concluding remarks were given by Prof Dr Suhail Fatima, Dean SUMER and Organizing Chairman of Jamia Hamdard COVID-19 Webinar Series.

The Programme was congenially moderated by Dr Khursheed Ahmad. Ansari, Associate professor of SUMER and the formal vote of thanks were proposed by Dr Shahid S. Chaudhary, Assistant Professor SUMER, Jamia Hamdard.
