Jammu and Kashmir: 102 Schools of District Samba declared Drug Free

 

SAMBA : As many as 102 schools have been declared Drug Free in district Samba following a massive campaign Nasha Mukt School Abhiyan was launched in the district.

Efforts against drug abuse made by District Administration have started yielding positive results with the declaration of 102 High and Higher secondary schools having been declared as drug free (Nasha Mukt) Schools.

District Administration Samba, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma, has adopted a multi pronged strategy to achieve the goal of 100 percent Drug Free status for the District. The focus has been laid on strict enforcement of control measures, registration of FIRs against suspected persons, spreading of mass Awareness aimed at Drug Demand Reduction and Community Mobilization.

As per Chief Education Officer, the education department has written to all private Schools to furnish undertakings. Out of the 102 schools declared Nasha Mukt, 60 are government schools and 42 are private schools.
