Jammu and Kashmir: Local youth urged to avail benefits of flagship self-employment scheme
Ramban: District Industries Centre today organized an awareness camp at Batote, to sensitize the unemployed youth of the district about the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
During the programme, the resource persons focused on the package of incentives being implemented by the Department of Industries and Commerce including CIS, Interest subsidy, Insurance cover as well as DG set subsidy besides other schemes to promote industrial activities in the district.
DDC Member Batote, Lead Bank Manager, Naib Tehsildar, PRIs, youth and aspiring entrepreneurs attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, GM DIC, VishwaJeet, highlighted the benefits of PMEGP and urged the youth to avail benefits of the flagship self-employment and become successful entrepreneurs. He advised them to start small ventures to promote local products in the market besides meeting the local requirements.
The participants were also informed about the procedure for availing various incentives mentioned in the industrial policy.
Earlier, the Lead Bank Manager assured every possible help, guidance and expert opinion to young entrepreneurs at their doorsteps from the banks and financial institutions.
The efforts of the Department in promoting entrepreneurship were appreciated by the participants. They requested the Department to organize such programmes on a regular basis to generate awareness at grassroots level.
