Jan Abhiyaan: Shopian district abuzz with activities
SHOPIAN : Array of Activities have been conducted today by various Departments under the Jan Abhiyan campaign, and as a prelude to the fourth phase of Back to Village Programme (B2V4) of the government which starts from 27 October across the length and breadth of the district.
Continuing the trend, activities were today conducted by various departments to make the campaign more vibrant and effective in achievement of set Deliverables.
A mega awareness cum training event was organised by Cooperative Department, Shopian under the leadership of Joint Registrar Special, Bilkees Jan.
Assistant Registrars, Deputy Registrar and Joint Registrar Special Kashmir Cooperative Department presented to participants the concept of cooperatives, entrepreneurial initiatives and departmental schemes.
The participants and beneficiaries were also given the opportunity to present their grievances and suggestions. Event was a part of a chain of initiatives for revival of cooperative movement in J&K.
Jal Shakti, Rural Development Department, Mission Poshan, Mission Shakti and various other departments besides J&K Bank also organised activities under the programme as per the set targets.
Financial awareness camps were held by J&K Bank Shopian while Department of Sericulture, Shopian held the Baseline Survey at various villages for the purpose of identification of Silkworm rearers.
Similarly, Mission Poshan Shopian conducted various activities like poshan abhiyan, anemia awareness camps and plantation drives at various locations of the district.
District Hub For Empowerment Of Women, Mission Shakti Shopian conducted a door to door awareness campaign under the BBBP campaign at Keegam. During this campaign people were made aware about the importance of girl child and their education besides the team interacted with girl students and made them aware about the advantages of education and how to cope up with day to day problems.
Jal Shakti Department conducted different types of activities at various places including orientation to Pani Samitis on their role and responsibilities under JJM, Water Quality checking and Testing using Kits, Training of Resource persons and Sanitary Inspection of Water Supply Schemes, sources in Gram Panchayats.
All departments have intensified activities under the campaign to saturate the targets set out for the benefit of the people and to set stage for the ambitious outreach, Back to Village -4.
