BANDIPORA : An awareness camp was today organized by Cooperative department Bandipora at Town Hall here in which various departments including Agriculture, allied and employment generating departments participated.

The District Programme Officer, Nodal Officer Coordination Mohd Ashraf Hakak was chief guest on the occasion.

Chief Animal Husbandry officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Department Bandipora and District Sheep Husbandry Officer were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the occasion, the DPO stressed upon the stakeholders to take advantage of the schemes of the Cooperative department. He said Cooperative movement has tremendous scope to revolutionize the economy of the societies adding that Cooperative Societies could be encouraged to yield better results for maximum number of interested youth.

Hakak said apart from Cooperative Societies, Bandipora district has a great potential for development of dairy/sheep farms, handicrafts and tourism and urged upon the youth to venture in these sectors.

On the occasion, the DPO along with Dy. Registar distributed certificates among the beneficiaries for establishment of cooperative societies.

Deputy Registrar Cooperative also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the schemes of the Cooperative department.

While interacting with beneficiaries, he said that the department has submitted the DPR for the establishment of food processing units and the district will have such units shortly under cooperative support.

The objective to organize this camp in collaboration with other line departments, is to provide awareness about the various schemes of the departments and to encourage the youth to venture into the cooperative sector, he added.

The subject matter specialists and experts from Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry, DIC and KVIB gave detailed awareness of schemes and welfare programmes of their concerned departments.
