Jasudben ML School honours Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s Birthday with virtual STEM Exhibition
New Delhi: To mark the importance of India’s 11th President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his Birth Anniversary and to celebrate Students’ Day, Jasudben ML School (JML) – a premier ICSE school in Khar, Mumbai organized a virtual exhibition of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) affiliated projects executed by students of grade 1st-12th by displaying their innovative talents and exciting ideas.
Honoring Dr. Kalam’s efforts in the field of Science & Technology and the role of a teacher he played throughout his career, JML School focused this exhibition on extending curricular knowledge into practical work and daily application through this one of its kind virtual events.
“Our great scientist, Dr. Kalam always believed that in the word “IMPOSSIBLE” lies “I M possible”. Taking a cue from that, our Virtual STEM exhibition was a sincere and fruitful effort to conceptualize, innovate and create exhibits even in these challenging times. Every year the STEM Exhibition has been setting new milestones of innovation by students.This year due to the pandemic, the format of our event was virtual, but the enthusiasm, innovation, and creativity still remained intact,” said Arpita Agarkar (STEM coordinator of the school)
Principal Mrs. Damayanti Bhattacharya virtually inaugurated the event on the school’s website. The participating student’s projects were showcased live in the given slot while the live audiences were questioning and interacting with them. All the participants had quite an insightful and research-based replies to the audience.
Mrs. Damayanti Bhattacharya said “In memory of Dr. Kalam and his contribution to the world and its young minds, my students and school aimed to inspire one another to keep the team spirit in place and grow together. The creation and execution of students with learning and working simultaneously makes me delighted to see them bring their inner creativity to life. As we received a great response to the exhibition, I am pleased to say that every parent will be proud of their children as much as I am with them.”
“JML School always makes an extra effort towards our overall development of our children. Both my kids were heavily engrossed in their projects and sketched many ideas. I was so happy that they made the right use of the internet and brainstormed for the projects with their respective teams. All teachers were so supportive and encouraging towards students and us,” said the Parent of a Higher Secondary student.
“This exhibition was put up to commemorate the Missile Man of India since Dr. Kalam was a dedicated teacher and identified himself foremost in that role before anything else. The school aimed to inspire the youth from his work, achievements, books, lectures, and an inspirational personality that will always be remembered. All this while praising the “People’s President” of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, United Nations even declared 15th October as World Students’ Day”, added the Principal.
