Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, AMU: Six Covid patients recovered

Aligarh: Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, AMU, a dedicated L2 Covid positive hospital, has witnessed remarkable recovery rate and six patients got full recovered and discharged during the last three days. Today a 63 year old patient who tested positive ten days ago, discharged from the hospital.

The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor lauded relentless efforts of doctors and other health workers and expressed satisfaction over the treatment given to the patients.

The medical college has set up a special covid ward to treat level two patients and it has become operational four week ago and in all eight patients discharged so far and seven patients are under treatment, said Professor Shahid Siddiqui, Principal JNMC. Four batches comprises 12 doctors, 12 nurses, 8 attendants, and 8 cleaners fully equipped with PPEs, work round clock in the covid ward.

The Medical College has setup a central control room equipped in the telemedicine technology so that the consultants communicate with residents doctors and nursing staff in covid ward. The Medical College has consulted several committees that work round clock so that the task of patient management could be managed properly. Covid treatment team is headed by Professor Shahid Siddiqui and it includes Principal and CMS Prof. Shahid Ali Siddiqui, MS Prof. Haris M. Khan, Prof. Afzal Anees, Dr. Husainis Haider Mehdi, Dr. Obaid Ahmad Siddiqui, Dr. Fatima Khan, Dr. Asfia Sultan, Dr. SM Kamil Ashraf, Dr. Shaad Abqari, Dr. Abdul Waris, Dr. Zia Siddiqui.

According to Dr. Abdul Waris, Deputy Medical Superintendent 35 to 40 patients are being treated daily at Flu Clinic.

The JNMC has tested 7680 samples from Aligarh, Mathura, Noida, Kasganj, Hathras, Bulandshahar, Agra, Rampur, Etah and 185 found Corona positive so far, said Professor Haris M Khan Nodal Officer and Chairman Department of Microbiology.
