J&K KVIB organises Awareness cum Sensitization Programme at Chamyal-Samba
SAMBA : An awareness cum sensitization programme was today organised by J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav here at Border village Chamyal of District Samba to aware the unemployed youth of the area about different self-employment schemes being implemented by the board.
The Awareness programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Additional Divisional Commissioner Samba S. Rajinder Singh accompanied by Secretary/CEO J&K KVIB, Farrukh Qazi.
Besides, Dy.CEO J&K KVIB Jammu Division Tilak Raj, BDC Chairman Ramgarh, District Officer S. Harvinder Singh and other officers of the Board, Bankers, PRIs and a large number of unemployed youth attended the awareness camp. The Theme of the programme was “FROM SWADESHI TO ATMA NIRBHAR BHARAT-A JOURNEY BY THE PEOPLE OF THE INDIA ”.
The Secretary/CEO J&K KVIB impressed upon the unemployed youth and the budding entrepreneurs to come forward to avail the benefits of self employment schemes to start their employment generating ventures. Elaborating benefits of the schemes, he said that under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme ( JKREGP) schemes government provides 25 to 35% subsidy to the beneficiaries, whereas, an assistance up to Rs 25 lakh and Rs 10 lakh is provided for manufacturing and service sectors, respectively. He further said that these schemes also envision minimization of migration of the people from rural to urban areas in search of job opportunities. He informed that both the schemes are online and people can avail benefits from their home without visiting offices.
The Secretary also mentioned that J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board is also the Nodal Agency for implementation of Scheme of Funds for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) for UT of J&K. He urged the NGOs, Trusts and registered Societies to come forward for revitalization of the traditional vanishing industries under these schemes by formation of clusters.
Additional District Development Commissioner Samba appreciated J&K KVIB for organizing such awareness camps, especially in the Border Area. He urged upon the unemployed youth of Border belt to harvest the maximum benefits of schemes being implemented by J&K KVIB and other Departments.
