JK Lakshmipat University, Eternal Hospital & AKS Group organized Women’s Car Rally – ‘Divas on Wheels’ to create awareness on cancer

Jaipur: Ahead of International Women’s Day, leading higher education Institute, JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur in association with Eternal Hospital & AKS Group organised Women’s Car Rally called ‘Divas on Wheels’ with a mission to spread awareness on Breast and Cervical Cancer. The rally was aimed at raising awareness on the importance of early detection and prevention of Breast and Cervical Cancer. The chief guest of the event was Dr Archana Sharma, Chairperson, Social Welfare Board, Government of Rajasthan.

 

Around 200 Women drivers from all over the city participated in the rally, driving their cars through the streets, displaying banners and slogans promoting awareness of Breast and Cervical Cancer. The rally started from Eternal Hospital, Jaipur, covering various locations across the city and culminated at JK Lakshmipat University. 30 Women entrepreneurs from Jaipur were also facilitated at the event. Women above 18 years were allowed to participate in the same.

 

Mr SR Pandey, Chief of HR & Administration, JK Lakshmipat University said, “Breast and Cervical Cancer are the most common types of cancer affecting women worldwide. Early detection and prevention are critical to successful treatment. The Women’s Car Rally is a unique initiative that aims to raise awareness on the importance of regular check-ups, self-examination, and early detection of these cancers. The Women’s Car Rally was an exciting and informative event that brought together women from different walks of life to promote a vital cause. We are thankful to all the participants for attending the event enthusiastically and showing their support for this important initiative. We would also like to congratulate all the women entrepreneurs who were honoured today for their work and we thank you for your contribution to the society. You all are an inspiration for the younger women who aim to strive high in their career”.

 

Chief Guest, Dr Archana Sharma said, “The cancer burden in India continues to grow. Cervix and breast and oral cancers account for over 58% of the cancer burden among women in India. Most of cancer cases among women are reported late due to lack of awareness. Therefore, I am grateful and thrilled to see such enthusiasm from women for such a noble cause. I would also like to congratulate JKLU, Eternal Hospital and AKS Group on the success of this event and your efforts to create awareness on cancer through this unique initiative is quite commendable”.
