J&K-RLM in collaboration with CSC e-Governance held a digital Literacy programme at Nagam, Budgam
BUDGAM : The Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (J&KRLM) in collaboration with CSC e-Governance held a digital Literacy Certification programme at Block Nagam of district Budgam.
On the occasion, Chief Guest SDM Chadoora, Prince Noorul Hamid along with Block and District Managers of JKRLM and CSC distributed Appreciation of digital literacy Certificates to 350 women SHG Members.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Chadoora said that in modern world, digital literacy is increasingly important, as the internet and digital technology has become an essential component of many people’s lives. As the time goes on, more and more people are getting online and utilizing these technologies in everyday lives, whether for work or in the home.
Block Programme Manager Nagam, Syed Mohammad Abbas informed the gathering about the achievements of NRLM UMEED in Block Nagam. He said that 525 Self Help groups have been formed in block Nagam with 4585 women members. 1.66 crores as capitalisation has been given to these SHGs by NRLM UMEED.
Further these SHGs have been linked with banks and banks have provided an amount of 2.76 crores to these SHGs for generating sustainable livelihoods. He said that, With the help of financial support many SHG members have started their own businesses like Pashmina Shawls, Cosmetic and garment shops, Cutting and tailoring shops, wood carving etc and are also taking part in different exhibitions in and outside state.
