JKI contributes Rs 10 lakh to J&K Relief Fund

Jammu: Jammu Kashmir Industries Limited (JKI), in an endeavor to supplement efforts of the administration towards containing the spread of Coronavirus in the J&K UT, today contributed Rs. 10 lakh to J&K Relief Fund.
Managing Director, Javid Iqbal, along with General Manager JKI, Sanjay Handoo, presented a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh to Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce Department, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, as a contribution towards J&K Relief Fund for the ongoing battle against the pandemic. The amount shall be deposited in the relief account as voluntary contribution from employees of the Corporation.
Managing Director JKI apprised the Commissioner Secretary that the Corporation has been actively carrying out the sanitization of its factory premises located at Jammu and Srinagar. Besides, the Corporation has distributed masks and sanitizers among the non local resident workers of Silk weaving and Silk reeling factories at Baribrahmana Jammu and is also ensuring availability of ration to these workers, he added.
Commissioner Secretary issued instructions for expediting the development of phone booth type COVID- 19 Sample Collection Centre requisitioned by the Health and Medical Education Department. He further directed JKI management to ensure social distancing and other safety measures being strictly adhered to by the non-local resident workers of JKI.
