JKTPO organizes Webinar on District as Export Hub initiative
Jammu: To boost export from Jammu and Kashmir and to implement the vision of the Prime Minister to develop each District into Export Hub, JKTPO within its role as facilitator of trade promotion in UT of Jammu & Kashmir organized a webinar in association with DGFT.
The District Export Hub is an initiative of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, GOI in coordination with DGFT and State/UT Governments for formulation of Robust District Action Plan.
The webinar was chaired by Ankita Kar, MD JKTPO. Suvidh Shah, Joint Director, DGFT provided his detailed inputs for developing each district as Export Hub.
Vikas Gupta, Director Handloom and Handicrafts Jammu, Joint Director(s) Directorate of Handloom and Handicrafts Jammu/Kashmir, Joint Director(s) Directorate of Industries and Commerce Jammu/Kashmir, and GM DICs of all Districts also participated in the virtual meet.
Several issues like benchmarking of current export performance of the district and identifying potential export products were discussed threadbare to give suitable momentum for conducting upcoming Apex and District level Export promotion committee meeting(s).
The MD, JKTPO stressed upon identification of existing export products with good export value and potential exports for enhancing export trade. DGFT ensured to provide all necessary support in this regard.
The DGFT emphasized that each district should have its own District Level Export Action Plan, depicting bottlenecks for exports of potential products, training and development requirements along with requirement of establishing quality check and testing labs, warehousing/cold storage etc wherever necessary for promotion of exports.
