JMI conducts 77 Phd and 6 MPhil Viva Voce through online mode in lockdown period

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) is extensively using Information Technology(IT) for virtual MPhil/PhD viva voice and PhD Pre Submissions. JMI is one of the institutions in the country which started MPhil/Phd Viva voce online.
Ever since the classroom teaching stopped due to Covid -19 pandemic and online classes started the university has conducted 76 PhD Viva Voce, 5 PhD Pre Submissions, 1 MPhil/PhD Viva Voce, 6 MPhil Viva Voce and 2 M.Tech Viva Voce till now. Viva Voce are being organised on Google meet and all viva voce are recorded for any future reference.
The online viva voce started from 11th June, 2020 and the Centre for Information Technology (CIT) of JMI is facilitating the smooth conduct of these activities. Apart from this the CIT has also helped in organising dozens of webinars and training programs, selection committees under CAS, Finance Committee meeting, Executive Committee meeting and other important official meetings of the university.
Online teaching and other activities started at the behest of the Vice Chancellor JMI Prof Najma Akhtar who emphasised the use of IT tools to ensure that teaching and other related activities do not suffer due to Covid-19 pandemic.
