JMI maintains its position in QS world University Rankings, improves position in Engineering &Technology in THE Subject Rankings

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) maintained its position for third consecutive year in the coveted Quacquarelli Symonds(QS) World University Rankings-2021. JMI retained
its rank at 751-800 even as number of universities getting ranked by QS increased
this year.
JMI has been ranked at 15th position among Indian institutions including IISc and
IITs while at 6th among universities in India.
In London based Times Higher Education Subject Ranking-2020, JMI scaled high in
Engineering & Technology improving its position from 601-800 last year to 401-
500 this year, a jump of 200. Within India its rank is 11 among all higher education
institutions while among universities it is 2nd position.
JMI made it to the list of top institutions worldwide for computer science for the
first time having being placed at 501-600, while among Indian Institutions it has
been ranked at 16th position and at 7th among Indian universities.
In Life Sciences JMI has been ranked at 401-500 worldwide while it has been
placed at 7th position among Indian institutions and at number 4 among Indian
universities.
In Physical Science JMI improved its position from 601-800 to 501-600, a jump of
100 from last year. Within India its rank is 15 among all higher education
institutions while in university category it is placed at 3rd position.
Expressing her delight over JMI’s consistent good performance in world rankings
as well as subject ranking, Vice Chancellor, JMI, Prof. Najma Akhtar said that it
reflects the university’s focus on high quality research, good teaching, quality
publications and good faculty student ratio.
