JMI VC interacts with special children of Child Guidance Centre on World Disability Day

On the occasion of World Disability Day, Child Guidance Centre, a school for special children
situated on the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised several activities to sensitise
people about the problems and issues of specially abled children. Special children at the Centre took out a march in and around JMI carrying placards, posters and banners displaying messages of social inclusion and general awareness about disability.
Parents of the children and staff of the centre also took part in the march.

They also met Vice Chancellor, Prof. Najma Akhtar, JMI in her office. The children children
presented musical performances, grooving to the tunes of Hindi songs. She also boosted the morale of parents and the staff of the centre and assured them of all possible assistance for their betterment.

Child Guidance Centre is run by Dr. Zakir Husain Society, a not[-for-profit organisation. JMI is providing building and other infrastructure to the society for the welfare of mentally and
physically challenged children.
