JN Medical College Students Bag Top Prize

Aligarh : A team of four medical students from JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) brought laurels to the College by bagging first prize in the poster presentation and second prize in the case presentation, in a National Conference jointly organized by IMA, Varanasi, IMA JDN and IMA MSN Baranas, on the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day.

Dr. Astha Agrawal, Dr. Lakhan Prakash Gupta, Dr. Kartik Varshney and Dr. Rashiqa Sharvany from JN Medical College attended the conference entitled “Ekaksh- Medical Conclave”, held at Varanasi and bagged first prize in the poster presentation titled ‘Psychological Impact of COVID-19 patient care on families of healthcare workers’.

The team also participated in Case Presentation titled ‘Enterolithiasis: An unusual manifestation in intestinal tuberculosis’, under the guidance of Dr. Shahbaz Habib Faridi (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Surgery, JN Medical College) and was awarded the second prize.

The students also attended a workshop on Suturing-Laparoscopic & Open, while Dr. Lakhan Prakash Gupta, an intern at JN Medical College received souvenir as a token of gratitude.

The conference was graced by eminent experts including Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, IMA National President, and Member, National Medical Commission (NMC).

Prof. Rakesh Bhargava, Principal, JN Medical College, and Dean, Faculty of Medicine, AMU congratulated the students for bringing laurels to the College and keeping the name of the University high.
