JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) concluded its ‘Well Baby Show’

Aligarh: The Department of Paediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) concluded its ‘Well Baby Show’ with the Chief Guest, Dr Hameeda Tariq (Renowned paediatrician), Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Officiating Dean, Faculty of Medicine), Prof Shahid A Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) and Prof Harris M Khan (Medical Superintendent) distributing prizes to winners.

Shayan Sarfaraz won the first prize in the 0-6 month category. Mohd Ali received the second prize and Anabiya and Yusuf were given the third prize and consolation prizes respectively.

In the 6-12 months group, Pranvi came first, Ismail Baig stood second, Mohd Saif received the third prize and Abiha Zehra was given the consolation prize.

Ali Hasan was the winner in 1-3 years category with Syeda Zainab and Md Razaan finishing second and third respectively. Ibrahim received the consolation prize.

Mannan bagged the first prize in 3-5 years group. Tamseel Zehra stood second, Labiha Nadeem finished third and Nabeha Afsar won the consolation prize.

Emphasising the importance of breast feeding, the Chief Guest, Dr Hameeda Tariq said that it provides babies with the necessary nutrients in proper proportions and protects them against diseases.

She also spoke on the role of parents in maintaining the overall health and development of their children.

Prof Kamran Afzal proposed the vote of thanks, while Dr Uzma Firdaus conducted the programme.
