JNMC faculty appointed as External Accessor, Kayakalp Project
Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) faculty member from the Department of Community Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Dr Ali Jafar Abedi will work for promoting cleanliness and enhancing the quality of healthcare facilities in Uttar Pradesh as an External Accessor of Kayakalp Project, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
He also underwent special training at Lucknow to comply with his responsibilities.
“Through the Kayakalp Project, health centres will be ranked according to the scores submitted to the state Award Committee. For formal recognition and award, an external assessment would be carried out in the nominated facilities by teams of external assessors to validate the scores generated through the peer assessment mechanism”, said Dr Abedi.
He added: Cleanliness and hygiene in hospitals are critical to preventing infections and the Kayakalp scheme of the Government will encourage public health centres in the nation to work towards standards of excellence to ensure facilities stay clean and hygienic.
“The Kayakalp national initiative launched by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan scheme is designed to appreciate and recognise the healthcare organisations effort in creating a healthy environment by promoting cleanliness, hygiene and infection Control and sustainable practices to positive health outcomes”, said Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui, Principal, JNMC.
