JNMC faculty gets Award

Aligarh: Mr Salman Khalil, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine J N Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been conferred with the VDGOOD Professional Association Hyderabad’s ‘Best Researcher Award’ for his contributions to collaborative and methodologic research in the applications of statistical methods to the field of medicine, and for showing excellence in biostatistics teaching.

In the teaching career spanning over 20 years, Mr Salman’s work in the field of statistical theory and application, and commitment to teaching have had a major impact. He has also worked as biostatistician in UNICEF Sponsored Polio Eradication Programme for 12 years and under Sentinel Surveillance Unit, Project for National Programme for Control of Blindness, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Mr Salman has authored several research papers published in peer-reviewed national and international journals and attended 27 conferences and workshops. He has co-supervised 11 MD thesis in Community Medicine and 12 MSc projects of Home Science.

He is in the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Life Sciences (ILJS).
