JNMC faculty participates in Panel Discussion at IIM, Ahmedabad
Aligarh, March 14: Dr Nafis Faizi, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine, JN Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) while participating as a public health expert in a panel discussion on ‘Containing Corona: Designing and Thinking about India’s Response’ discussed how the Country is bracing for a potential explosion of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases and bolstering its ability to test and detect the virus.
The discussion was organized by Centre for Management of Health Services (CMHS) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad.
Dr Faizi stressed on the importance of increasing resilience dividend of health systems within the Universal Health Coverage and discussed the history of health threats and their causes.
He emphasised that proper systems are needed not only for Coronavirus, but also for other threats such as antimicrobial resistance and climate change.
Dr Faizi also threw light on public health preparedness, healthcare management, response to infodemic misinformation and macroeconomic implications among other topics in the discussion with experts in the fields of clinical and public health.
“Dr Faizi has made commendable contributions to public health preparedness, research and policies,” said Prof Anees Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Community Medicine.
