JNMC faculty shares views, experiences in ISCCM Conference
Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) faculty member from the Department of Anaesthesiology, J N Medical College (JNMC), Prof Syed Moied Ahmed exchanged views and experiences with researchers, professors and young doctors of Intensive Care from across the Country in the 11th Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) Conference, UP and UK State Chapter, held at the Heritage Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi.
Appointed recently as the Chairman of the Indian Society for Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM), Prof Moied was invited to speak in the conference with his team of anaesthesiologists comprising JNMC faculty members, Dr Abu Nadeem, Dr Obaid A Siddiqui and Dr S Kamran Habib.
Outlining the agendas, he took up after taking charge as the ISCCM Chairman, Prof Moied talked about the ‘Kaun Banega Critical Care Champ’ quiz programme aimed at encouraging the young generation to develop interest in anaesthesiology; the ‘Young Intensive Award’ to provide an impetus to research activities; a ‘Refresher Course’ for prepare medical students for DNB, PDCC and DM courses; publishing ‘Critical Care Medicine: Bench to Bedside’, a book explaining the expanding domain of critical care and ISCCM News Letter, showcasing activities of various city branches of the society. The Book and the News letter were released during the conference by Prof A K Singh (Vice Chancellor, Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee University).
Besides engaging in interactive sessions on new discoveries and milestones in anaesthesiology, he also delivered lectures on ‘Shortage of Staffing Influences the Outcome of Patients’ and ‘Airway Management in Critically ill Patients’.
Dr Abu Nadeem, Dr Obaid A Siddiqui and Dr S Kamran Habib chaired sessions and were resource persons in the ‘Mechanical Ventilation and ABG Workshop’.
Meanwhile, JNMC resident doctor Jahan Ara won the ‘best paper’ award in the oral presentation category.
