JNMC interns attend orientation programme

 

Aligarh : MBBS 2017 Batch students starting their Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were acquainted with diverse responsibilities and a wide range of clinical duties in the recently held Orientation Programme, in line with the National Medical Commission (NMC) regulations.

Welcoming the new interns, the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof Rakesh Bhargava told them that they will be posted in all the clinical departments of the hospital on a rotational basis to get the basic clinical exposure of all the specialties.

“Interns need to be empathetic to patients as they are the first point of contact. They must be well acquainted with the protocols of various departments”, said Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC) in the keynote address.

On the occasion, Prof Rakesh and Prof Shahid also released the log book of the interns.

Prof Seema Hakim (Convener, Department of Medical Education) and Dr Nasreen Noor discussed the essentials of the log book and received the feedback from the new interns.

Prof Syed Manazir Ali, Prof S H Arif, Prof Syed Ziaur Rahman, Prof Shagufta Moin, Prof Sangeeta Singhal, Prof Saira Mehnaz, Prof Anjum Parvez, Prof Afzal Anees, Prof Nishat Akhtar, Prof Kamran Afzal, Prof Qazi Ehsan, Prof Shagufta Wahab, Dr Ali Jafar Abidi, Dr Ruhi Khan, Dr Mohd Imran, Dr Sufia Naseem, Dr Bushra Siddiqui and Dr Ummul Baneen and chairmen of various departments apprised the students about their roles in different departments.
