JNMCH holds 2nd Quarter Medical College Core Committee Meeting
Aligarh : The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), held its 2nd Quarter Core Committee Meeting under the supervision of Prof. Veena Maheshwari, Dean, Principal, and CMS.
During the meeting, Dr. Nafees Khan, Nodal Officer (Clinical), presented a report on the work done under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) over the last three months. A total of 3,336 tuberculosis patients were treated free of cost in the second quarter (April to June), an increase of about 800 patients compared to the first quarter (January to March). Notably, around 650 pediatric patients were also treated under the NTEP during this period.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Waseem Rizvi, Medical Superintendent, Prof. Mohammad Shameem, Chairman of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, Deputy DTO Dr. Imran, as well as the Chairpersons of various departments and other university officials.
The meeting included detailed discussions on NTEP activities, with a focus on expanding services to reach the maximum number of patients. The Niskshay Mitra scheme, which involves adopting tuberculosis patients and providing them with nutritious food, was also reviewed.
JNMCH is effectively treating tuberculosis and working towards the eradication of this contagious disease in the near future.
