Job Mela, Awareness Camp held at Shopian

 

SHOPIAN : A mega Job mela cum Awareness camp was today held at ITI Shopian wherein various private companies offered counselling to the job aspirants and also conducted an on-spot placement drive.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

12 firms had displayed their stalls to show-case the opportunities being provided by them to the educated unemployed youth of the district to earn their livelihood at ease.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the aim of organizing the counselling cum placement drive was to educate the youth about various opportunities in the private and semi-government sector.

He said the unemployed educated youth should equip themselves with requisite skills to enhance their employability. He said events like this provide an opportunity to bridge the gap wherein market players interact with the supply agencies.

The DC assured the job aspiring youth of every possible help from the government and advised them to approach the concerned authorities and also contact the District Administration in case they face any difficulty.

Addressing the gathering, Superintendent ITI reiterated his commitment to provide quality training in all courses at the institute.

Among others, the event was attended by Joint Director Skill Development, and other concerned officers.
