Job opportunities increased significantly in last 9 years, says Union Minister Bhupender Yadav

Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav said that job opportunities have increased significantly in the last nine years and around one crore 25 lakh new job opportunities were created. He said, around 30 crore workers have registered in the e-SHRAM portal so far. Briefing media in New Delhi about nine-year achievements of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr. Yadav said, the government has focussed on Seva, Sushasan, and Garib Kalyan by ensuring the welfare of organized and unorganized workers.

 

He said the government has taken the step to provide social security net to unorganized workers through the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan scheme. He also lauded the Mudra and PM Svanidhi schemes saying that these schemes also helped the unorganized workers. The Minister highlighted that women’s participation in the workforce is increasing due to the measures taken by the government for their welfare.

 

According to the Labour and Employment Ministry, under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan scheme, more than 44 lakh beneficiaries enrolled under the scheme so far. Under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana, over one lakh 52 thousand establishments have claimed benefit with a total disbursement of the amount of over nine thousand 400 crore rupees. Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana was announced as a part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat 3.0 package to boost the economy, increase the employment generation in post-Covid recovery phase, and incentivize the creation of new employment.
