Joint M. Tech. program on ‘Green Energy and Sustainable Development’

Aligarh : The Centre for Green and Renewable Energy, ZHCET, AMU has started a joint M. Tech. program on ‘Green Energy and Sustainable Development’ with the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Gurugram. The induction program of this course was organised by NISE on 18 March. Students shall study one semester at AMU and the second semester at NISE making it a unique collaborative programme on green energy in the country. This program is in line with the themes of the Education Working Group of G-20.

During the induction program Prof Mohammad Rihan (Coordinator, Centre For Integrated Green and Renewable Energy ) said it will create an informed and educated workforce to tackle the climate challenge.

Mr Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Director General, NISE said it is an important and unique development for the two institutes as well as in view of the National scenario.

During the program Prof Rihan highlighted the developments related to green energy at AMU and how the university has been contributing to national requirements through these initiatives. On the occasion he also presented the book ‘Green Energy Transition in India-Including the success story of AMU’ to the joint secretary, MNRE The book includes a foreword by the vice chancellor Prof. Tariq Mansoor .and details the impact of green energy projects at AMU and their relevance in the national context.
