Justice Magrey inaugurates Vidhik Seva Kendra at District Court Complex Ramban

 

Ramban : Jammu and Kashmir High Court Judge, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray who is also the Executive Chairman of J&K Legal Services Authority (J&K LSA), along with Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul inaugurated the Vidhik Sewa Kendra (Legal Aid Centre/Qaanuni Khadmat Centre), here at District Court Complex today.

Earlier, the HC Judges held a meeting with District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam and discussed various issues related to the infrastructural development in the court complexes. He directed to DC Ramban to handover the possession of land identified by the Administration for the construction of New District Court Complex as the present building is insufficient to meet the need of future.

Justice Magrey also passed the directions to complete the construction work of Munsif Court Complex, Ukhral within prescribed time to start its functioning from the new building.

While interacting with the judicial officers, Justice Magrey, asked them to put in their best efforts for speedy delivery of justice to the litigants and ensure proper hearing on each and every date of hearing. He said that providing easy and brisk access to justice is the main objective of the judiciary.

He sought cooperation from the lawyer community for making Vidhik Sewa Kendra and other online judicial facilities launched by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir successful for the convenience of litigants .

“With the help of modern digital services the litigants and advocates are able to file their cases with much ease as compared to manual filing which is time consuming and expensive.” he added.

He further said that Legal Service Authorities are playing a pivotal role in reaching out to people in need and opening of these E- services have provided a new window to the litigants.

Justice Vinod Chaterjee Koul, said that similar facilities will be provided to all the districts of J&K for which the High Court authorities are committed and working hard for achieving this target within the shortest possible time.

The Vidhik Sewa Kendra will enable a litigant to file a lawsuit in any court of J&K through virtual mode and obtain the status of litigation and cases with one click. This service will also enable online purchase of stamp papers, apply and obtain Adhaar-based digital signature, booking of Mulakat appointments etc.

The HC Judges also monitored the functioning of the system when two cases were filed by the litigants and expressed satisfaction that the application reached the intended Court within just a minute and within ten minutes the litigant got acknowledgement.

Principal District and Sessions Judge, Haq Nawaz Zargar, apprised the Justice Magrey about the facilities available and functioning of courts in the district. Justice Magrey directed District & Sessions Judge to make screening of PLVs and choose three PLVs who have computer knowledge and will work on rotation basis.

Among others who met HC Judges included SSP, PD Nitya, Additional District & Session Judge Ramban, Chief Judicial Magistrate Ramban, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ramban and Munsiff JMIC Ramban besides members of Bar Association Ramban.
