Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences reached into the Final Rounds of the Energy Globe Award -2017

Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has reached into the Final Rounds of the Energy Globe Award -2017 as the one and only organization from India. The Energy Globe Award is the most important award in the field of environment. This time Energy Globe Award will be handed over in the Presidential Palace in Tehran, Iran. This award will be presented on 15th and 16th of January for the project submitted in 2017. As many as 2000 projects from 178 countries have been competing for this award in the categories of land, fire, water, air and youth. Around 60 Nations of the World will be attending the presentation in Tehran, which will broadcast worldwide.

Finalists of the category fire represent India, Thailand and Spain, while KISS is the only organization from India has reached the final round. KISS has modernized its preparation of food for 27000 students through biogas plant, steam based cooking System, solar heating system and rain water conservation system. Statesmen, Policymakers, Bureaucrats and Nobel Laureates from across world have visited KISS and praised lavishly for environmental friendly systems adopted here.

Expressing his pleasure Dr. Achyuta Samanta, KIIT & KISS said, “the rare achievement of KISS has brought pride and honor not only for KISS but also for the entire country.” As the World is on the brink of environmental hazard due to the menace of Global Warming, protection of the environment is being felt inevitable on part of each and every inhabitant on the earth,” he added.
